old habits die hard...

procrastination is an old habit for me. this is something i am dealing with today and something i want to work on.

old habits can be hard to break. i realize postponing tasks adds stress to my life and the sooner i get the task done i can let go of the stress. when i do this i am getting in the way of my own best interest.

i am going to take a closer look at this behavior and work on not putting these tasks off because i know doing them promptly is in my best interest. they are never as bad as i anticipate and i always feel better when i am done.

im telling myself: do the right thing now and dont dwell what you have not done. act now. focus on today.

i just wanted to put this out there....

can anyone relate?

  1. YES. especially running your own business, it can be so daunting the to-do list you draw up for yourself. then half the stress is just the anxiety you get just LOOKING at the list and feeling overwhelmed.
i find timing myself helps! i think this is the pomodoro method? you put 30 minutes on the clock or however much time and set out on a task fully focused. then take a 5 minute break. go eat some chocolate. make some tea. take a walk around the block. then re-set the timer and do something else. it helps me because 30 minutes is way shorter than 3 hours, so i'll actually START something and then i've realized how much you can actually get done in that time. try it!
thanks for sharing, i truly know how you feel! xo.
